Closure order for North Derbyshire property linked to anti-social behaviour and drug use
The property will be closed for three months.
A North Derbyshire property linked to anti-social behaviour and drug use has been closed.
Derbyshire police offices worked with North East Derbyshire District Council to obtain a closure order for a problem Killamarsh property.
The address on Brindley Court saw a number of complaints over reports of anti-social behaviour, drug use and nuisance to local residents.
Now a three-month closure order was granted at Derby Magistrates Court under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
The order, issued yesterday (Thursday, October 29), prohibits anyone from entering the property for the duration of the order.
Breaching the order is a criminal offence and could result in arrest and prosecution.
Following the incident officers have launched an appeal to the public asking local residents to come forward if they experience any similar issues.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire said: “On the back of a recent successful warrant conducted in Killamarsh, the team have worked with North East Derbyshire District Council to obtain a three month closure order.
“If you have a concern about similar issues in your area, please report them to us. Your information helps us take action.”
