KH Hair in Ripley is celebrating after picking up a hat trick of trophies at the hairdressing group’s annual award ceremony.

The much-anticipated event took place on 9 June on the outdoor terrace at Binks Yard in Nottingham City Centre, where KH Hair’s 200+ staff and VIP guests from Wella and ghd came together to celebrate the achievements of the Group’s 20 salons.

The evening began with Group managing director, Darren Messias, acknowledging 13 individuals for their long service to the company, before 22 awards were handed out to this year’s top salon teams and individuals.

The whole of the Ripley salon team took to the stage to collect the Salon Service Award and the Salon Retail Improvement Award (sponsored by Sebastian), while 1st Year apprentice, Ellie Copeland, made the trip alone to collect the first place trophy in her year’s training competition.

The recognition comes as the salon prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary in the town and stylist, Beth, marks her 30th year on the team.

Director, Sarah Storer, says she was over the moon with the haul. “These awards mean the world to my team and I,” she says. “Everyone works so hard and I’m proud of each and every one of them. It’s always great to get together with the rest of the KH Hair family and to be recognised for our achievements is just fantastic. A big thank you to our fantastic clients who take the time to give us such generous feedback and reviews, helping us to win the Salon Service Award for the third year in a row!”

Other winners on the night included Judith Ashley from KH Hair in Ilkeston who picked up the Individual Clients Award and Lisa Coup from the Group’s Long Eaton Head Office who was surprised with a Special Recognition Award.

When all awards were safely collected, despite the rain threatening to put a damper on the evening, guests were entertained by international touring beatboxers and world champions The Beatbox Collective. Following the show, guests were invited to eat, drink, be merry, and dance the night away to end a perfect evening of celebration and recognition.

Group MD Darren says he is absolutely delighted for the teams across Derbyshire and beyond. “They deserve to be recognised because of the hard work, passion and commitment they show on a day-to-day basis,” he says. “And I am so proud they are part of the KH Hair family. The foundations of our business are based on creativity, consistency and fantastic customer service and I feel it’s only right to recognise and reward any individuals and teams who have excelled over the past twelve months. Many congratulations to all the winners and runners up.”
