Bagpipe band The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be blowing up a storm at a sizzling show in Derbyshire to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The most famous bagpipe group on the planet and The Red Hot Chilli Dancers will entertain at Buxton Opera House on June 6, 2024, as part of their world tour. Many of the performers hold world championship titles and contribute to a show that leaves people with warm hearts and smiles on their faces.

From a cameo appearance at T in the Park in 2004 with the Darkness to opening the main stage in their own right 10 years later, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ fusion of traditional Scottish music and rock/pop anthems which they proudly call ‘Bagrock’ has appealed right across the age range.

The band’s rise to fame was helped in no small part by their win on the TV show When Will I Be Famous, hosted by Graham Norton, in 2007. They went on to enjoy sell-out tours in the USA, UK, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Australia and perform to 1.5million people.

Successful live shows have been matched by sales of their records. The Pipers won a gold disc for their first album, Backrock to the Masses which racked up more than 100,000 UK sales. Their Blast Live CD and DVD achieved triple platinum status.

In February 2019 the Pipers and Tom Walker released a new version of his massive hit Leave a Light On in aid of music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins and it went straight into the iTunes top five. The song has attracted more than 15 million views on YouTube.

The Pipers’ viral track of the Avici track Wake me up has been viewed more than five million times on YouTube.
