After winning the DTRA Flat Track Intermediate championship in 2023, Wilson spent the winter months contesting the nine round Junior Sand Racing championship at Mablethorpe where, after winning eight out of the nine rounds, he became the Junior Champion.

Riding the KTM 85cc, machine the 12-year-old second year pupil at the Banovallum School in Horncastle was runner up last season and was keen to go one better this season.

He did this in style by taking the win in all but one race when his bike suffered a technical problem and he was forced to retire.

Not content to sit back and watch the rest of the meeting, he borrowed a fellow competitor’s bike and won the last three races that day to pick up a few extra points.

He went on to win the final round which was more than enough for him to be crowned Junior Sand Racing champion.

Ollie is now preparing for his next challenge and will be stepping up to the British Junior Supermoto championship for the 2024 season, which runs over eight rounds on tracks throughout the country.
